On a cold evening in February 2009, my wife and I traveled home from the gala dinner where Ernst and Young announced the ‘Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008′ award. She asked me how I felt after being on the short list for the award and not winning it. Winning is a good feeling, I answered, but I had already won several awards so this was not so important to me.

In the last years residential villages had been growing from the ground like mushroom. It would be impossible to count how many of them had been built inside and outside of Budapest. It is important to know that there can be a huge difference between two residential villages. 20 km far from the capital city in Veresegyház, the Csiki-Berek, one unique “green town” is about being built. Why should it be unique? This is going to be the first residential village outside Budapest which will have its own heating centre equipped with a heath pump to produce the heating and hot water. With this it can not only save at least 50 % of the costs for the residents but also saves the environment. It’s often said that this technology would not work or it’s expensive. Well not this time. It is not only affordable but it is already working.
